Ground floor
Entering through the back door takes you first into the old world, the slate-flagged original kitchen space which is now a great dining area, complete with country dresser, generous oak dining table and original beamed ceiling. But look to your left and there’s the C21st – a beautifully modern kitchen, which was refurbished early 2015 with views over the village one-way, or up to the Yewdale crags the other. This beautiful kitchen is adequately equipped with electric oven & induction hob, microwave, fridge & freezer & dishwasher.
A small hallway leads to the generous family sitting room, warm and inviting with its ceiling beams, traditional slate floor and wood panelled walls, a log burning stove, rugs and three big settees. There’s even a TV and Blue Ray DVD player hidden away, what could be better than cuddling up in front of a roaring fire on a cold winters eve? To one side there’s a light and bright second sitting room/reading room with a cosy log burning stove and again TV and DVD player. The perfect hideaway for getting lost in a great book. Guests can also access the charming country garden from the sitting room, with strategically placed benches, this is a great place to soak up the summer sun or watch the seasons change.
The cottage also benefits from a delightful cloakroom, where an abundance of local books and guides can be found. There is also a downstairs WC & shower, perfect should you get a little muddy after a day of exploring.
