Hillside Cottage, Bowness is part of the converted former 18th century school house. This stunning Cumbrian cottage had its foundation stone laid by William Wordsworth himself.

The cottage is situated just a short stroll from Bowness Bay and Lake Windermere, in the heart of this ever popular Lakeland village. Surrounded by local shops, pubs and restaurants and with the benefit of parking for 2 cars, the attractions of the village can all be accessed easily on foot.

Ground Floor:
Entering into the hallway there is space to kick off your shoes and hang up your coats after a day of exploring.

The first bedroom (sleeps 2) is a twin with two single beds with bedside table and lamp, dressing table and stool, mirror, TV and wardrobe.

The second bedroom (sleeps 2) has a double bed, bedside table and lamps, dressing table and stool, full length mirror, TV and wardrobe.

The downstairs bathroom has a bath with overhead shower.

First Floor:
Up to the first floor you will step into the open plan living area.

The dining kitchen has an electric oven and hob, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, slow cooker and all necessary crockery, cutlery and utensils.

Off the dining kitchen there is comfortable seating in the Lounge area, featuring a wall mounted TV with Amazon firestick and wall mounted electric fire.

There is a large picture window which leads out to the balcony, perfect for those early morning cuppa’s watching the world go by.

The third bedroom (sleeps 2) is just off the lounge and has a double bed, wardrobe, bedside table and lamp.

The final feature of this floor is the spiral staircase leading up to the attic family room.

The Attic
The attic room (sleeps 3/4) seems to be everyone’s favourite.

Accessed via the spiral staircase the front window has views of the lake, Belle Isle and Claife Heights.

There are beautiful oak and pine beams and a large velux window to the side. The room has a double bed, dressing table, stool, mirror, TV and wardrobe.

There are steps up to a raised mezzanine where a small double bed, ideal for 2 children or 1 adult, can be found.

A stained glass door opens into the en-suite which also has a shower.

Outside:
Patio area to the front of the cottage with seating.
